Swedish Flower Hens and the San Joaquin Valley in Fall
Few things can spark a writer to put a handful of words together like the beauty we occasionally find outdoors. And in the San Joaquin Valley, just a few miles from the Sierra Nevada mountains, there are few things more beautiful than fall. Our Swedish Flower Hens are the perfect compliment!
With an abundance of agriculture of all shapes and sizes, the changing colors in this part of California will rival that of just about any place in the world.
The grapevines and the walnut trees, the Ginkos and the Chinese Pistache, they provide a backdrop that cries out for hot cocoa, warm cider and mittens.
And here at Sunbird Farms, one of our favorite things to do is to watch some of our most beautiful poultry foraging through the fallen leaves on a cool autumn afternoon.
We hope you enjoy some of these photos, and we look forward to spending some more time at the writing desk as the weather turns cooler and our hearts turn warmer.
