Sunbird Farms is small, family farm in Central California, committed to saving the world…well, at least some part of it. Think of us as a “boutique” preservation holding, offering premium, heritage poultry that have a special place in the food world.

At Sunbird farms, we care about our birds. We raise them on organic pasture in the wonderful sunshine of California, nature’s best medicine. They are hand-selected in small quantities from the best sources available. Quality is the top consideration. For that reason, we have been lucky enough to attract discerning customers from across the country. We offer chicks, juveniles, and pastured-poultry and eggs. Thanks for coming!

I have had an enjoyable experience ordering my Chocolate Orpington eggs from Brice at Sunbird Farms. My eggs arrived quickly and packaged with care, so that no eggs were broken. At candling, it appears that all eggs are fertile, so I’m very excited to see them hatch. Brice has really gone the extra mile-he’s been great at answering all of my questions, checking in with me to see that the eggs arrived, and cared to know how the candling went. This year I dabbled in the Rare Breeds auction. I won 3 different auctions of birds- including Bielefelders from Brice @Sunbird farms. Of the 3 batches, the healthiest and heartiest birds I received were from Sunbird. I truly appreciate knowing that Brice and his family, who I have never met, care enough to feed organic soy free feed and free-range their chickens. This is how I raise my birds, whether for meat or for breeding stock. I look forward to buying from Brice again.

This year I dabbled in the Rare Breeds auction. I won 3 different auctions of birds- including Bielefelders from Brice @Sunbird farms. Of the 3 batches, the healthiest and heartiest birds I received were from Sunbird. I truly appreciate knowing that Brice and his family, who I have never met, care enough to feed organic soy free feed and free-range their chickens. This is how I raise my birds, whether for meat or for breeding stock. I look forward to buying from Brice again.

I ordered 10 Bresse chicklets and received them this morning + two “packing peanuts”… all were healthy, eating and drinking within minutes of being unpacked, none the worse for their trip from California to New York. Brice was with us throughout the whole process, explaining and advising. He is hands-down the BEST person I have purchased livestock from in 10 years, couldn’t endorse him more… and I’ll be ordering more from him in the spring!
